Yes! Extensions supplied by IAMLILYG Hair Studio can be treated the same as your natural hair! I provide the highest of quality so your hair always remains smooth whether you curl or straighten your locks. You should always be using a salon quality heat protector when styling your extensions with hot tools.
Yes! Although, lightening the extensions is a no go. Toning or deepening your extensions is absolutely okay. I highly recommend leaving this process to me though. Please understand that I don't offer any refunds, exchanges or replacements on hair extensions that have been coloured outside of the salon.
This option isn’t available at this time. I am in the process of launching my own range of Hair Extensions, this means that all extension hair is custom ordered once your in-person consultation is complete and a deposit has been placed. I allow approximately 5-7 days for your hair to arrive, but recommend allowing a full week to ensure your extensions to arrive in time. This process ensures the best possible match and quality for your install.
Although generally purple shampoo is good for at home maintenance, I do not recommend this step when you have extensions. Not only is purple shampoo quite drying on the hair, it can also lead to your extensions being over toned or patchy from an uneven application. Should you decide to include this step in your at home haircare, please understand that I do not offer any refunds, exchanges or replacements on extensions that have been purple shampooed or coloured outside of the salon.
IAMLILYG Hair Extensions last between 9-12 months but this is also dependent on what method is applied along with how well the client has looked after them. There are a few factors to take into consideration when looking after your extensions to get as long as possible out of them including quality of products used, sticking to the recommended care and maintenance regime, how often heat tools are used - just to name a few. You will receive a 'Hair Extension Aftercare Guide' after your initial appointment with Information on how to look after your extensions.
Hair Extensions can be treated very similar to how you treat your natural hair, provided the quality is high. I recommend using salon quality products which are free of protein, sulphates & parabens. If you're unsure of what products to use, your stylist will be able to help you out with some great choices for at home hair care.
Double Drawn means that the hair is consistently one length. This ensures the extensions have an even thickness from top to bottom giving an overall thicker look when applied.
I recommend using products that are free of any protein, sulphates & parabens as well as any citric acid/citrus. These ingredients can be drying and cause damage or shedding to your extensions. I will always recommend the perfect products for your hair type that is also safe to use on extensions. A personalised hair care plan will be provided to you after your appointment.
Yes! I am more than happy to apply and provide regular maintenance appointments if you would like to source your own hair. However, I will not be held responsible or liable for any unexpected results. You can find more information on this in my Salon Guest Policy.
Literally anyone! Hair extensions do not have an age or gender bracket, they appeal to anyone who desires to have extra volume or extra length or both! With both Tape & Weft Extensions available to choose from, your look can be personalised to suit you and your lifestyle.
Provided you follow the recommended at home aftercare for whichever extension style you have chosen, they should not cause your hair any damage. If they are brushed regularly and treated right the extensions should not cause any harm.
Plaiting or braiding your hair to prevent unnecessary knotting or matting is the way to go before going swimming, whether that be in the ocean, pool or spa. A leave in moisturiser with heat protector in is also great to put in if you know you are going to be in the sun as UV rays are just as damaging as hot tools on the hair. It is also highly advised to rinse your hair in fresh water when you get out and wash with salon quality shampoo at your earliest convenience. This prevents your hair, as well as your extensions from drying out.
To achieve a long hair look, you need to have a minimum of 4 inches of hair. This is enough hair so that if you gather all of your hair back, it just makes it in to a hair tie. A consultation must be made prior to making your first appointment with me so I can assess your hair and discuss the desired results with you.
Due to the high quality of hair we provide, your extensions should look super natural! Colour matching is a very important step to ensuring your extensions are the perfect match for your hair, it is also essential to choose the correct application method for your hair type which your stylist can help you with in your consultation.
I will take care of the ordering for you. If you are a new salon guest, I will require you to come in for a complimentary consultation prior to your initial appointment. This is to ensure I order the correct colour, length and style as well as the correct amount of hair that you would need. If you would like to book a consultation, you can do so, here.
